The Department Generallandesarchiv Karlsruhe is responsible for the agencies and courts of justice in the governmental district (Regierungsbezirk) Karlsruhe as well as the regional agencies of the Federal Republic administration (under §2,3 Bundesarchivgesetz 1988) which have their seat in the Karlsruhe district. It is also responsible for the Audit Court and the Baden-Württemberg Administrative Court in Mannheim.
