The Department Staatsarchiv Freiburg is responsible for the agencies in the governmental district (Regierungsbezirk) Freiburg, for the courts of justice in the districts of the county court (Landgericht) Baden-Baden, Freiburg, Konstanz, Offenburg and Waldshut as well as the regional agencies of the Federal Republic administration (under § 2,3 Bundesarchivgesetz) which are located in the governmental district Freiburg.
